A tire swing is one of the most fun and timeless swings on a swing set or playground.   Who doesn’t remember hoping on a tire swing and swining over a river or stream a jumping in?  The tire swing of yesteryear  has given way to the  modern, safe, and fun tire swing of today.  There are two main types of tire swings on the market today:  the rubber tire swing and the plastuc tire swing.  Each swing has its advantages and disadvantages.  The biggest advantage of a rubber tire swing is it’s softer than a plastic tire swing.  Kids can also put their feet in the lower rim of the tire shile swinging.  A Plastic tire swing has a closed interior to prevent bugs from nesting in the standing water.  A plastic tire swing has the clor molded throughout where as painted tire swing has just the top surface painted.
If you are interested in making a tire swing there are several options available.  One of the easieste ways to make a tire swing is to buy a tire swing hardware kit,  Most of the time yoy get the chains, tire eyebolts, and the tire swing swivel.  All you need to do is add the tire.  There are two main options when it comes to the suspension part of a tire swing,  There are roped tire swings and chained tire swings.  In general a tire swing with chain will last longer than a tire swng with rope. In addition to the tire portion of a tire swing, you will also need a tire swivel for a complete tire swing.  Be sure to match the duty rating of the tire swing with the swivel.  Otherwise there will be a mismatch between the two.
